Hyundai Genesis: ESC(Electronic Stability Control) System / Steering Angle Sensor Description and Operation
Steering Wheel Angle Sensor detects rotating direction of the
vehicle. The rotating direction detected by the sensor is sent to the
HECU as CAN signal via CAN communication.
HECU detects speed of the steering wheel handling and the
angle with this CAN signal. HECU also uses this signal as the input
signal to control anti-roll.
1. |
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery and wait for at least 30 seconds. |
2. |
Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are aligned in a straight line. |
3. |
Remove the DAB module.
(Refer to Restraint - "Airbag Module") |
4. |
Disconnect the connector & lock bolt (A) and then remove the steering wheel by using special service tools (09561-11001).
Tightening Torques :
39.2 ~ 49.0N.m (4.0 ~ 5.0 kgf.m, 28.9 ~ 36.2lb-ft)
|
Tighten the lock bolt appropriately and install the SST (09561-1101) in order to remove the steering wheel easily. |
Do not hammer on the steering wheel to remove it; it may damage the steering column.
When istalling, do not reuse the steering lock bolt. |
