Use caution when handling the transfer case.
Preventing the ITA (Integrated Transfer case Actuator ) from damage
1) In case of transporting the transfer case
2) In case of assembling the transmission

1. |
Remove the transfer case from the vehicle.
(Refer to 4 Wheel Drive (AWD) System - "transfer case assembly") |

Release filler plug (A) and oil drain. |
3. |
Install the slide hammer on the flange (A). |
4. |
Pull out the flange (A). |
5. |
Remove the radial seal ring (A). |
Installation |
1. |
Attach radial seal ring on the press in tool. |
2. |
Knock with the plastic ring into the trasfer case housing. |
3. |
Place the circlip in the groove of the flange. |
4. |
Insert the new flange (A) into the transfer case by applying slight strokes of the plastic hammer. |
5. |
Fill the lower edge of the filler plug (installed transfer case) with the oil.
Tighten the plug to 60 Nm(6.0kgf.m, 43.4lb-ft).

6. |
Install the transfer case in the vehicle.

7. |
After the installation, start the engine and then check if there are any leakages from the transfer case. |
