Connect the GDS in the vehicle. |

To read the transfer case data in old ITA(ECU), select "ECU Data Back-up & Writing" service of GDS. |

Remove the under cover.
(Refer to Engine mechanical system - "Engine room under cover") |
6. |
Disconnect ITA(ECU) connector (A). |
8. |
Remove the 4WD ITA(ECU) (B). |

Replace O-Ring(A) before reinstalling the 4WD ITA(ECU). |

Install the new 4WD ITA(ECU) (B). |
2. |
Tighten the fixings to 22Nm(2.2kgf.m, 15.9lb-lf). |
3. |
Check the connector pin for erosion. |
4. |
Connect vehicle wires and 4WD ITA(ECU) connector (A). |
5. |
IG Key "ON" Engine off. |
6. |
To write the transfer case data in new ITA, select "ECU Data Back-up & Writing" service of GDS. |
7. |
Perform initial calibration, select “T/C Clutch Calibration” service of GDS. |
8. |
IG Key "OFF", wait 10s or so. |
9. |
IG Key "ON", engine "OFF". |
10. |
Check if transfer case data are written correctly using "ECU Data Back-up & Writing" service of GDS. |
11. |
Check DTCs, for pending DTC, delete them. |
12. |
If still pending DTC’s or incorrect data written then IGN OFF and repeat whole procedure from point 5. |
13. |
No DTC’s available and correct backup data written, service procedure is successfully done. |

Replacement
•
Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
•
When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
•
Take care not to scratch the body surface.
